SHRINE

International landart project, 2021

The work was created in 2021 as part of the land art project “SOURCES - QUELLEN” by the association for contemporary art “next” - it took place as an “artist residency” in Seckau (AUT).
Nature was examined as the source of creativity and its freedom. The environment and the material found there served as a source of inspiration. A free, playful approach was a stimulus for this. Through the influence of the religious site of Seckau and the exploration of the theme of rituals, a shrine was created that invited people to stop and linger. A place was created to reflect on one’s own rituals and beliefs and their own faith.
